Types of E-commerce

 To begin with, there are numerous types of E-commerce models, but the ones that would be highlighted in this blog and given example to are the following six.

Types:

1) B2B - Medux

Medux, as shown on its website, is an E-commerce website that helps other businesses improve their network performance while maintaining great customer Experience. Since this is a transaction between a business to another one, this E-commerce website is classified as a Business2Business(B2B) site.

2) B2C - Tesco

Tesco is a British grocery retailer which has both on-site shopping and an E-commerce website to help its' consumers buy their needs online. Tesco is a retailer, so the products are aimed and sold towards the public consumers, hence why it is a Business2Consumer(B2C) model.




3) C2B - Fiverr

Fiverr is a freelancing site which can be  C2B E-commerce model. This is due to the fact that a lot of businesses rely on freelancers to do the heavy-lifting in which in this case is a transaction done between a Consumer and a Business.

4) C2C - Udemy

Udemy is an E-commerce website in which consumers themselves may be able to sell their lectures to other consumers who seek to learn the lectures' content. Such model in which Consumer and a Consumer make a transaction is classified as a Consumer2Consumer(C2C) business model.





5) G2C - UK GOVERNMENT

GOV.UK could be classified as a G2C E-commerce model website since some sections such as paying the Self Assessment Tax Bills deals with transactions between it(The government) and people(Consumers).



6) M-Commerce - CIRCUIT

According to Bloomenthal and Estevez (2020), M-commerce refers to the usage of cellphones/tables or other wire-less handheld devices to handle online commercial transactions. CIRCUIT  is a laundry mobile app that handles transactions for consumers on their handheld devices in order to use certain on-site machines.
