Internet website cookies
Cookies in relation to online websites are text files containing pieces of data used to identify your device as you use a network and it involves data such as username and passwords(KASPERKY, 2020). For instance, as a user visits a website a few days after previously logging in, the website may recognise them(BEHERA, 2020).
UI
As Churchville(n.d) points out, user Interface is the way humans or users interact and communicate with a website. According to Churchville(n.d), there are numerous types of user interfaces such as:
- GUI
- CLI
- VUI
Page source
As Brain(n.d) explains, a websites' page source is the original text and HTML tags the author added to the site which then the browser interprets to output the normally visible web pages across the internet. A page source could mostly be viewed by simply clicking the right mouse button on an unoccupied area on the site and then choosing the 'View source' option.
Meta tags
According to Hardwick(2020), meta tags are pieces of code that let the search engine know vital information about the web page you are using; this could include stating the way it should display the information in the search results as well as how to display that information to the visitors.
Jquery
jQuery is a famous JavaScript library created in 2006 by John Resig with the goal of making it easier for developers to use JS (Domantas, 2019). Ever since its' creation, it has been the mostly used open-source software tool by developers of web applications(SEGUETECHNOLOGIES, 2013). This extendable JavaScript library allows web developers to create custom user interaction in their websites with the help of a lesser amount of code(SEGUETECHNOLOGIES, 2013).
Below is a snippet taken from Domantas(2019) which shows a sliding effect example using jQuery.
(Domantas, 2019)Hyperlinks
A hyperlink, or a link, is a word, image or even a phrase which may allow the user to navigate from a page to a different one(Christensson, 2006). Hyperlinks in the form of texts are usually underlined with blue font colour and once clicked, they could take you to either a different location on the current web page or even a new one(Christensson, 2006).
