Encryption and online security payment

Despite the time and effort saved by making online payments, risks are associated with such payments whether it is a transaction between individuals or businesses. Elefant(2011) correctly argues that the feature of online payment which enables the exchange of billions of dollars worth of transactions yearly is a prime target for hackers. The work of GOCARDLESS(n.d) reveals that 58% of customers fail to finalise online payments due to security concerns, hence why having encrypted secure payments plays an important role in gaining the customers trust and confidence.

Online Security features to be included on the E-commerce site.

The padlock symbol displayed in a web browser, or SSL certificate is a digital certificate that encrypts information sent from a website to the server using Secure Socket Layer security technology (GOCARDLESS, n.d). This form of encryption could help strengthen the trust of the customers to the website. 
SSL certificates are automatically generated by Wix which is available on my E-commerce website as shown below.




Ensuring secure online payments

With the help of SSL certificate, a secure online payment can be ensured. However, to further ensure secure online payments, a third-party payment method such as Paypal will be used.




McAfee application and its advantages

The main advantage McAfee has to offer, specifically the McAfee Secure app is the trustmark it leaves on your site which increases engagement and lowers customers security concerns(WIX, n.d). 

Online payment options on website

The payment methods  or options are mentioned in the store-policy section where once again PAYPAL is a viable option which is both secure and globally trusted.

Choice of E-commerce

Electronic Books My website will be following the Business-to-Consumer(B2C) E-commerce model as the products are aimed to be sold to none other than the consumers themselves.
