WixAppMarket


Wix applications are apps that could be downloaded from the wix app market and integrated into a website to implement new features easily.


Below I am going to show the various applications I added to my website from the WixAppMarket.

1. Wix Chat (Live-chat feature)

This feature is such a helpful one, especially for a E-commerce business as it allows easier live communication between the consumers and the business marketers or employees.


Upon expansion, the users are able to send messages and communicate with a employee from the business. However, as I do not have any employees, the chat messages are redirected to me and I am able to respond to them accordingly. Furthermore, in case I am not available, an automatic message could be configured as shown. Here the automated message asks the consumer to provide their contact details in case no one is around to reply to them.



2. Social Media Icons

The second wix app I used was the Social Media Icons application. This app allowed the showcasing of three social media icons for the free plan, however I only used two since I only have those. Those two being Twitter and Instagram. 

Upon clicking these icons can redirect the user to a specified destination, which I adjusted to be a link to the Twitter and Instagram accounts once clicked on their respective icons.


3. Instagram Feed

The third app is one that shows the latest posts on Instagram in whatever format selected. I chose a 4 row format hence why it is shown the way it  is shown below. Hovering over the posts would also show the description or caption of the post on Instagram.


4. PayPal Button

The fourth app is a button which allows the donation of funds for the E-commerce business. It also shows a couple of accepted payment methods below which is a good addition to the web-page.


5. Comments and Reviews

The fifth app on this list is an application which allows the consumers to note down their thoughts in form of either comments or reviews. The products can also be rated by the consumers which will later on give the product a average customer rating letting the other buyers know how good the product is increasing chances of sales.


6. Wix Search

This is the Wix search bar which I edited to make sure it only searches for products instead of pages and other random titles. The search option enhances the user experience as it allows them to easily search for the products they seek without having to go around and manually doing so.


7. Do Not Sell Data

The final app on this list is the app that allows customers to disable sale of their information third parties. This enhances the trust of the customers which is why it is a good addition to the website.

Pros and Cons of E-commerce

  It was reported with the help of statistics that electronic retail sales are predicted to rise up to 4.8 trillion dollars by 2021 (Ferreira, 2019). Choice of E-commerce

Electronic Books My website will be following the Business-to-Consumer(B2C) E-commerce model as the products are aimed to be sold to none other than the consumers themselves. Two similar websites I am going to be researching two different websites that are famous or known to be selling E-books which are :   1)Ebooks:  This below, is the e-Books.com home-page.
